Adoption Covenant is a 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization, founded by Merinda Condra to offer a simpler, more effective alternative to typical adoption agencies. As an adoptive parent and a lawyer, Merinda has combined her care for children in need and her knowledge of the adoption process to offer the best adoption services possible. Contact Merinda
Merinda is a graduate of Texas A&M University and Texas Tech University School of Law. Before attending law school, Merinda worked for both Congressman Chet Edwards of Waco Texas and Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives James E. "Pete" Laney. After graduating with honors from law school, Merinda served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas. She then joined her father in a successful law partnership in Lubbock, Texas which concentrates on dealing with governmental agencies and serves clients nationwide. Merinda is the proud mother of Emma and Ellie who began their lives in Russia, but came home in 2003 and 2009. As an adoptive mother, she gives wonderful advice and insight into what to expect. Betty M. Condra has a bachelor's degree in Child Development from Texas Tech University and a master's degree in Education Administration from Sul Ross University. Betty taught school before starting a successful Real Estate and Insurance business. Betty was instrumental in the formation of Adoption Covenant and now serves as the Director of Operations. Betty is experienced with every part of the process and she handles all of the finances for the agency.

John Bertrand is the Licensed Clinical Social Worker who will complete the home study and post-placement supervision visits/reports for your adoption. His educational background consists of a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Texas Tech University; a Master of Science degree in Child and Youth Care Administration from Nova Southeastern University; and a Master of Social Work degree from New Mexico Highlands University. Over the past 22 years, he has been involved in every facet of the child placing process including a child assessment center, foster care, domestic adoptions, and international adoptions from China, Russia, Africa, Vietnam, South Korea, Jordan, Haiti, Taiwan, and Guatemala.
Family Support Specialist
Contact Pat
Whether you are a birth parent or an adoptive family, Pat is here to ease a lot of the concerns and difficulties during the adoption process. She is a retired LVN and advises birth mothers on issues that may come up during their pregnancy. She also requests and reviews medical records and updates the adoptive family on the status of the birth mother. Pat was adopted as a child and really understands what its like to grow up in an adoptive home. She offers valuable insight on both sides of the table, to the birth mother and the adoptive family.
African Adoption Program Specialist
Contact Miranda
Miranda has a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Texas Tech University. She is the proud big sister of Jackson, Eleni and Addis, all three of whom are adopted from Ethiopia. During the two years she spent working for the agency her siblings were adopted through, Miranda realized that she belonged in the non-profit field. With her experience in both sides of international adoption, Miranda is able to offer great insight in what can be one of the most stressful times. She believes every child deserves a loving home and is thankful for the opportunity to help families on their adoptive journeys.
